No More Training Wheels

The boys BOTH got their training wheels off! Luke is 5 and we really should have done this sooner, we just haven't had a place to do it. We are now living on base and have a double basketball court beside us and it was the perfect place to learn how to ride. Luke took to riding with no training wheels pretty quickly. He was a little timid, but after about 30 minutes we were able to talk him into going around the block. On our trip around the block he ran into a dumpster. This made him a little angry, (I don't know why, it's not like it wasn't HUGE and hard not to miss) but he didn't want to get back on the bike. He started walking away and Tucker ran to Luke's bike as fast as he could and tried to get on it! We got Tucker back on his own bike and convinced Luke to try again. Once we got home we put our bikes away and for about 2 hours listened to Tucker tell us that he CAN ride a bike with no training wheels and he'll show me. So Luke didn't want to come back out, but I decided to try with Tucker. Micah took the training wheels off and I took him to the basketball court. Micah tried to convince me I was crazy for trying, but Tucker assured both of us that he could do it. Sure enough he got it on the first try!
This isn't the actual day he learned, but Micah caught this of picture of Tucker riding around on the basketball court. He's such a big boy. He got his training wheels off and learned to swim with no life jacket in the same summer.
Here is Luke cruising around too. Luke has gotten so good he is even going with Micah to the skate park and riding the ramps.
Here is Luke's new school. I know this doesn't really go with this blog, but this is where it's going. :) Ramstein Elementary School. The school is more of a campus in that it has 4 buildings. Luke will be in building 904, stairwell B, room 106. For ever activity, gym, lunch, spanish, art, they go to another building. He even has to take "Host Nation" it's designed to teach the kids about the country they are living in. All the military schools provide this class when stationed outside of the US, I think that is pretty cool. There are about 15 kinder teachers and roughly 20 kids per class. Luke starts September 6th.
Here Luke is at his "meeting with the teacher." Mrs. Cepeda is her name and she is from the Philippines, and she is so sweet. I'm so excited for Luke, he is going to love school.
After orientation we decided to take the boys to see Mr. Popper's Penguins. And, we had the theater all to ourselves!
